Eleven Families, One Kitchen

A kitchen remodel project usually involves one to two people who need to agree on the cabinetry, backsplash, flooring, countertop, appliances and…the budget. In this particular remodeling project, three representative of a large family group walked into our showroom in late December 2014, searching for modern cabinets to replace their traditional cabinetry. There are 11 family units that together own a vacation penthouse in La Jolla, CA which has stunning Pacific Ocean views.

In the showroom, they discussed the style of cabinetry and budget. I introduced them to Magika by Pedini. Magika kitchen is simple, practical, clean and functional, the ideal kitchen to go with the very modern decorating style of their penthouse.

Early January the eleven families agreed on the design and made the decision to purchase their new modern cabinetry from us. The next step was to wait for the delivery of cabinets from Italy.

August 3, 2015 our install team removed their existing kitchen and prepared the space kitchen. By the end of the week, the cabinets were delivered to their house. This project involved many last minute changes such as repairing faulty electric, connecting water to the refrigerator, adding outlets, drywall repairs and painting.

The counter top was the last thing to go in. Here are pics of our fabricators precisely measuring the cabinets and later doing the installation of Caesarstone quartz. The clients opted for a quartz backsplash instead of tile.

The new kitchen is complete. We are pleased with the results so are the all the brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins in this large extended family.
